Why Lacrosse

Lacrosse is a great sport because it combines a number of different sports into one. Concepts from hockey, football, and basketball can all be seen when watching a single lacrosse game.

Known as the fastest game on two feet, lacrosse is also one of the fastest growing sports in the US. With new teams popping up all over the country, a new pro league on TV, and more college opportunities for young athletes, it’s not surprising that more and more people are joining the lacrosse movement.

With decades of experience and hundreds of success stories, our youth program (One Team Lacrosse) in Chandler offers a great lacrosse experience for athletes of all ages K-12.

What are you waiting for?

Each of Belichick’s three children went on to play lacrosse in college.

“To us, lacrosse is the great equalizer. It doesn’t matter what size you are or what your athletic background is, you can put in the work and become great.

We’ve seen athletes come from football, hockey, soccer, basketball, and baseball backgrounds become skilled lacrosse players. Some have gone on to pursue lacrosse at the collegiate level along with their other sport.

Lacrosse is a great compliment to all other sports, helping to hone and improve important skills, coordination, and overall conditioning.”

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the season?

Lacrosse is a Spring sport. K-8 will start practices in the Fall with games in the early Spring. High School will primarily practice and play a Spring season January – April.

What if I play another sport?

Great! Dual-sport athletes are some of the best athletes. If you play another sport, lacrosse will help improve your skills.

What about equipment?

Lacrosse is a contact sport, and does require pads, helmet, and stick. We can lend equipment to new players trying out the sport before you invest in permanent gear.

Is it hard?

As stated earlier, lacrosse gives you back what you put in. We’ve had first-time high school players join and end up playing in college. All it takes is dedication and some personal time and you can be great. Lacrosse skills can be practiced by yourself, whenever you want.
